Just a quick update. Next week is Spring Break and there is NO SCHOOL! :) When we return, Tuesday will be the first day of Milestones testing. Please don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions. We will be sending home review over Spring Break to make sure students feel EXTRA prepared.

Good afternoon!
I am so sorry this has not been updated more recently. We've had lots of busy weeks and schedule changes! The first quarter flew by for us, how about you?! Upcoming events: Movie Night - TONIGHT! :) 5th Grade Field Trip Parent Meeting - TBA, but will be soon, we hope! Stay tuned for details! Red Ribbon Week - split between two weeks! -Wednesday 10/25 - Poster due for Poster Contest (optional) -Thursday 10/26 - A "Jean"ious Red Rally Day (wear jeans and red!) -Friday 10/27 - Too BRIGHT for Drugs! (wear neon and sunglasses) -Monday 10/30 Put a "CAP" on Drugs Day (wear a hat) -Tuesday 10/31 - Your Future is the Key so stay drug free! (Book Character day!!) Book Fair - Week of November 4th Many more events to come! Please check back soon! :) In class, this is what we are working on: Math: Decimals (comparing, ordering, rounding, adding and subtracting decimals to the thousandths place) Social Studies - The Reconstruction Era after the Civil War Science - Chemical and Physical Changes Reading - Read 180 Writing - Informational Writing As always, feel free to email us with any questions! This week we are finishing up our 2nd STEM project. Students are making models of a constructive or destructive force with a group. I can't wait to see how they turn out! Check out my Twitter for pictures later this week! Reminders: Wednesday 8/30/17 is EARLY RELEASE. School will get out at 12:20! Don't forget that Labor Day is next Monday and we are OFF! Time is FLYING by! We are really starting to get into our content in all subject areas. Students are learning lots! Reminders: -Please be sure you check your child's agenda each night for homework and/or notes. -Students will also be bringing home any graded papers and/or correspondence using their HERO binders, which you read about in the policy letter at the beginning of the year. -If you have any transportation changes from your child's normal routine, please be sure to write it in their agendas. If it changes in the middle of the day, you MUST call the school to let us know. I cannot take changes through email. Thank you for your cooperation with this important matter!
